Zoom open for Member Social Time at 6:30 pm 

Presentation begins at 7:00 pm

BWS has a treat in store for members. Everyone is invited to attend on Zoom—free of charge!  No need to add a guest. Anyone in your household can watch on the same computer. 

Artist and art historian Leigh Culver (BWS), PhD, will present the lecture she would have given at our 2020 Annual Dinner (cancelled due to COVID-19).

"An Evening with Whistler"

• Leigh will discuss Whistler’s public art and the scandals surrounding his most well-known works.  Explaining Whistler’s decision to turn to watercolor, Leigh will introduce us to what Whistler called his “lovely little games.”  
• Artist Peter Ulrich (NWS, BWS, PVW) will then demo a painting in the style of Whistler, using the pigments and papers Whistler used.  
• Leigh and Peter, together, will share insights about Whistler’s techniques and the history of the watercolor medium.  

Registration open to Members from Sunday, March 14th through May 24th or until we reach the maximum number of 500 attendees allowable in Zoom.

If you are not able to register because the event is full, sign up on the wait list to receive a spot if a registrant cancels.

If all goes well, the presenters have agreed to allow the event to be recorded. We intend to make the recording available to members throughout the  week following the event. Dates will be announced once the video is prepared and available.

Please be sure your name is shown when you try to join us on Zoom. If you are using a family member's Zoom account, ask them to edit the account name before you enter so we can recognize you.

• Please join Zoom at 6:30 pm. We'll be checking members off the attendance list as they arrive, so entry may be slow. 
• Please join us during the Member Social Time so the presentation can begin promptly at 7:00 pm.  You will be able to Chat with your friends until 7:00 when the meeting begins.
